The program equips them with practical tools for managing stress, preventing burnout, and supporting patients and colleagues during wartime.

Research conducted in 2024 in the Kyiv region showed that healthcare workers report burnout driven by increased workloads and the near disappearance of any boundary between working hours and rest. Patients require more attention from clinicians due to the stress they have experienced and seek medical care more frequently.

At the same time, the war gives no one a break: anxiety for loved ones, sleepless nights under shelling, the lack of electricity or internet when it is urgently needed for work — all of this weighs heavily on medical staff, reducing their time for rest and recovery. Stress wears down even the most seasoned professionals, weakening their resilience and undermining their ability to provide high-quality care.

In partnership with leading U.S. experts, we are training Ukrainian medical trainers who will, in turn, train other healthcare workers within their medical communities and help develop prevention programs to counter burnout in local hospitals.

Together with Northwell Health – the largest healthcare provider in State New York – we deliver Stress First Aid program for Ukrainian healthcare providers working in extreme conditions.
